What are the benefits of living in a big city? Why are we all living here in London?

A big city is a place where you have the opportunity and power to be whoever you want. It is a place where you can get everything or loose everything. People usually come to big cities to work or study and less to live and build a family. I think that everyone who lives in London is chasing a career and in search of connections that will help achieve this goal that they have.

How do we all currently share resources or collaborate? Make savings or efficiencies?

People save money on transportation, they go by bus rather then using their one car. People also communicate, share products, food, clothes etc. There are many ways in which people try to save because London is a big but also an expensive city.

Are you enjoying working in a more self directed way, describe what is rewarding and what is more challenging?

I find it really comfortable working in a self directed way. I feel like it is a bit less stressful and I enjoy that I can really work on my own ideas and really make the things that I want and like. It is important to not forget working and push yourself to work faster and harder which is of course challenging sometimes.

What is your design response to the brief?

I wanted to make travelling easier for people that own plants by creating an app where people like that could easily communicate. London is full of people that travel all the time and 7 out of 10 people in London are plant owners.

Describe how you propose to interpret and explore experience design in your work.

I want to search for existing apps like that, explore the functions that they have and add things that I feel like would be necessary. I also want to interview plant owners who often have to face the problem of not knowing what to do with their plant when they have to leave.

What is the function/purpose/concept of the proposed design options you have so far explored? What are the common themes?

The main function/purpose/concept is making it easier for people who own plants to travel and communicate.

Who is the user?

The user is somebody who cares about their plants a lot and also somebody who is away very often

What kind of primary and secondary research is your design proposal inspired by? 

I was inspired to make my design because I often saw my sisters struggles with her plants and I have also seen other people that had the same problem

How many different disciplines does your current idea involve? (e.g. product/industrial design/graphic design/UX/UI etc.) Are these different categories still relevant in 2023?

My current idea involves graphic design and UX/UI design. I think all of them are equally relevant in 2023 because they are all in some way technology based

Has this project made you reconsider what "product design" is/could be? Discuss...

I was vey surprised at the end of this project but in a good way. Before I thought that product design is only about 3D and that it can only be a real object that we can design. However turned out that product design is much more vast than I thought

Describe your current idea in a single sentence... How does it enhance the city experience

With plant parent app city life as a plant owner becomes easier and less stressful because now you can quickly receive help with your plants.
